Click here to buy 1001 First Lines!

1001 First Lines is now available to buy on paperback! The first line of a novel is often considered the most important one. The one that causes the most frustration, joy, and mystery. It invokes questions and provides answers in a single bound. Have you wondered from which novels the most famous opening lines come from? How do the writers of Science Fiction compare to those of Romance? Now you can compare for yourself, with 1001 First Lines to get through!

1001 First Lines is for the writers and the readers of the world, with the list of titles in the back for you to work your way through, ticking them off as you go.

Now that 1001 First Lines is out, its counterpart 1001 Last Lines is underway.

I'm working my way through drafts of A Slave to Karma, a romantic comedy about an artistic cab driver in New York looking to get ahead in the art scene, and I'm in outlining/research mode of a dark retelling of The Wizard of Oz.

I've turned my graphic design focus to book cover design so I can combine my two ultimate joys in life- design and literature. Please visit Books @ Scarlettrugers.com to see my work, and get in contact with me if you're looking for a professional cover design for an excellent price!

I've been writing for a long time. Whether I'm any good, that's up to the readers. My loyalty lies with George Orwell, Philip K Dick, Stephen King & some real kitsch- cheap romcom.

I'm a Graphic Designer and strive to design new desktop wallpapers for National Novel Writing Month, which happens annually. I also design book covers, websites,

And that's the end of that chapter. Enjoy my website, and feel free to contact me about anything. I can often be found in the Forward Motion Writer's Chat, or in the kitchen searching for semi-not-at-all-nutritious sustainables.
